Many people these days don't even bother pursuing what is owed them because they fear the lawyer bills will eat them up their proceeds.  "I'm different," says veteran Orange County attorney Larry Rothman, whose aggressive and results -oriented firm in Anaheim serves all of Southern California.  "There's really no reason people shouldn't use me, especially in eviction cases, or those involving association collections."

For example, Mr. Rothman says that when a client needs to evict a commercial tenant -whether it's an industrial or retail environment - he doesn't just stop after the tenant is gone.

"After we evict the person, usually the lease goes another year or two, and we continue to collect from them for that time," Mr. Rothman explains, "So, we don't just evict them, we try to collect everything that's outstanding up to the end of the lease.

On the community associations' front, Mr. Rothman says he specializes in collecting the monthly fees from delinquent homeowners and condominium owners, even if there has been foreclosure on the property.  In fact, Rothman says his firm was the first an only firm to provide community associates with a true, no-cost program.  Unlike other firms, Rothman says there are not typical "hidden fees" that can add up to thousands of dollars.

"We are completely free," Mr. Rothman says.  "We give 100 percent to the client, and the defendant always pays the attorney fees.  And we also don't nickel-and-dime or clients to death."

Mr. Rothman also has a low fee program to handle unlawful detainer cases, and has been especially successful in debt collection for banks and credit unions on a contingency basis.

Mr. Rothman has extensive and impressive trial experience. Practicing law since 1976, Mr. Rothman has litigated nearly 30,000 cases - including handling unlawful detainer actions, representing landlords, handling collection cases, processing association foreclosures and representing community associations.  He is licensed in all California courts and numerous federal courts, including the local district court, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Rothman's court experience includes appeals before the U.S. District Court of Appeals, the California Supreme Court and the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel.

He has held the consumer affairs collection license since 1983.  Mr. Rothman, a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and the American College of Law, is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and the Orange County Bar Association.  He is also involved with local community organizations, such as the Community Association Institute (CAI)

Mr. Rothman has taught at the American College of Law, with specialties in commercial law, corporate law and the Federal Fair Debt Collections Act.

Always interested in helping others collect what is lawfully theirs, Mr. Rothman has published, "How to Get Results in the Collection of Delinquent Debts in California".

Mr. Rothman has several associates in his thriving firm.  The firm serves the following counties: Orange, Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara and Ventura.
